atlases with a wealth of information about freshwater fish. This
book is distinctive in the large pictures. Although not as comprehensive
as the Baencsh atlases, it is a beautifully done book with great
information and photos.
Part
I, 135 pages, contains sections on the history of Ichthyology,
taxonomic methods, speciation, anatomy and physiology, nutrition
and feeding, reproduction, and aquarium management.
Part II, about 700 pages,
contains profiles and large photos of fish mainly by family. |

The fish are listed in alphabetical order by genus. The descriptions
of each fish are longer and more complete than most atlases of
its kind making it an interesting read while serving as a great
fish identification guide. The photos are top-notch. Fairly comprehensive
with a section on aquarium plants as well. |
