Pictures of Pets

Pictures of Pets It can be a challenge to take good digital pictures of pets. Here are some helpful tips to help you take quality pictures of your beloved pets:

Take Pictures of Your Pet in His/Her Natural Surroundings
  • The best place to take the photo is where your pet spends most of his/her time, i.e. sleeping on the bed or relaxing on a favorite rug.
Find a Time When Your Pet is Relaxed and Content
  • The hardest part about taking pictures of pets is getting them to sit still long enough to take the picture. If you wait for a time when they are relaxed, it will be much easier for you to capture a great shot.
Camera Use and Taking Pictures From the Correct Position
  • Get down on your knees or squat if necessary. A good picture of pets will be from the pet's eye level, not yours. Othewise, you will end up with some funny pictures of pets with your pet looking unnaturally up at you.
  • We recommend that you turn on the sports mode if your camera has one. Sports mode uses a faster shutter speed to freeze the photo subject. If your pet is moving around, a slow shutter speed might leave you with a blurry picture. It will use a special focusing system that constantly adjusts the focus of the camera. If your focus is locked on your pet and he/she moves, you might end up with unfocused photos.
Printing and Displaying Cute Pictures of Pets
  • Once you have your digital photo, you need to print and display it (on the wall, your desk, etc.).
  • If you have an inkjet printer, then you can easily make the prints yourself using the software included with your digital camera.
  • Otherwise, use an online photo service (such as Mpix, Shutterfly, Snapfish or oFoto) to buy prints of your digital pictures.
  • Follow the instructions on the websites for uploading and ordering prints.
  • Online photo labs are pretty inexpensive. They also offer a number of different types of paper, such as matte, glossy and metallic.
