Below are several quick tips to help you learn some of the basics on tropical fish care:
Tropical fish information available suggests that you get the biggest tank that you can afford for your tropical fish. Water temperature will remain more stable in larger tanks and it will be easier to take care of your tropical fish. It will also give your tropical fish more water, keeping them healthier. Tropical Fish Like Places To Hide Giving your tropical fish plenty of places to hide will not only give them more room to hide and keep them happier, they actually end up hiding less. This will also lower the stress levels for your tropical fish. Avoid Sunlight Your should not keep your tropical fish close to direct sunlight. Direct sunlight will create major problems in your tank, including the formation of green algae. Direct sunlight will also increase the water temperature in your tank. It is best to avoid sunlight to help you provide adequate tropical fish care. Feeding Tropical Fish A healthy diet is an essential part of taking care of tropical fish. You will see better colors and increased vitality by providing your tropical fish with a variety of fish food types. Flakes can be a main element of the tropical fish diet but try to supplement their diet with other types of food every few days or so. Do not over feed your fish. Instead of giving one big feed, it is better to give two small feedings. The fish should be able to finish the food within one to two minutes of feeding. If you see flakes settling on the bottom of the tank, that means you have given them too much food. Over feeding will result in poor water quality and will increase stress levels of your fish. Stocking of Tropical Fish Don't add too many tropical fish to your tank. Tropical fish information indicates that it is better to add fish slowly to help your tank's biological filtration system work properly. Tank Maintenance and Care Tips Frequent and regular water change is better for tropical fish care and will reduce stress and interference with the biological cycle of the tank.
